Mr. Weldon Morgan taught both my father and I how to play the trombone (he also taught my sister to play the trumpet)
Mrs. Marjorie Morgan (Weldon's wife) was my 4th grade teacher; she was also an elementary school teacher of my spiritual mentor, Dr. Bob Forney.
In Fifth Grade, I was the White Rabbit in our school production of Alice in Wonderland
I played trombone in the Indiana University Marching Hundred from 1981 to 1984, and in the IU Pep Band from 1982 to 1985.
I was there when Bob Knight threw the chair.
In 1982, several members of my dorm floor were arrested for consumption at McCormick's Creek State Park during the Little 500 weekend; I had warned them not to drink in a state park.
In 1986-87, I was president of the English Graduate Organization at Miami University, and president of the InterVarsity Christian Fellowship chapter at Miami University.
In 1992, I took the Air Force Officers' Qualifying Test.
In March of 1995, I moved to Honolulu. In December of 1995, I submerged myself for the first time in the Pacific Ocean; I have never been swimming in the Pacific off the California coast.
